Abstract
Factor XI deficiency is a uncommon hereditary coagulation disorder, and troublesome bleeding problems might be encountered in the major surgical procedures, though its hemorrhragic manifestations are generally less severe than those of the AHG and PTC deficiencies, In this country, it is said to be 4.0% of all hemophiliacs in a statistical study(1976),
but not a definite case with surgical procedure has been documented. Prensented here a 43 year old male patient with severe factor XI deficiency (tractor XI level : 5.2%) successfully underwent an aortic valve replacement for the syphilitic aortic regurgitation.
